Mitani Landscape Studio, Inc. (MLS) is founded by Hiko Mitani, a Registered Landscape Architect, on February 2009. The studio is an innovative studio based on his experiences and design skills cultivated in international landscape fields.
After learning at a landscape design firm and traditional Japanese Garden Master for 10 years, Hiko Mitani had worked at international leading companies for a long time including ‘Peter Walker and Partners’ in San Francisco and ‘Nikken Sekkei Ltd’ in Japan. With these experiences, we offer progressive and practical solutions to a wide range of clients.
‘Kyoto State Guest House’, Hiko Mitani’s awarded masterpiece, demonstrates the assimilation of contemporary design method into traditional Japanese garden design. We believe that the respect to Japanese tradition is an origin of contemporary Japanese landscape designs to fit into sustainable environment in the 21st century.
